In 1979, Amalia Hizon Mercado and her family founded the first Red Ribbon Cake Shop on Quezon City’s Timog Avenue. Red Ribbon is a household name in the Philippines thanks to the delectable cakes baked by the company’s daughter, Teresita Moran. Its first overseas office was located in the Los Angeles suburb of West Covina.
In 1999, the firm started providing franchising opportunities.
